NEA Jazz Master Donald Harrison is a New Orleans Mardi Gras Big Chief representing

Congo Square. He has played with every era of master jazz artists from the 20s to now, as

well as the masters of many other styles of music, including hip-hop, funk, soul, R&B,

and classical. His new recording, "The Magic Touch," is one song played in nine styles

and reflects his experiences. The styles are soul, bossa nova, blues, reggae, salsa, New

Orleans second-line, post-bop, Harrison's nouveau swing, and a jazzy hip-hop version
